The Adventure of a Lifetime to Help Save the Memories of a Lifetime!

Ride Dates: September 6-7, 2008

  • Registration for the 184 and 100-mile rides is now closed. Please join us for the 20-mile Memory Ride!

What can you do to fight Alzheimer's disease? Join us now and take part in a fundraising bike event that benefits the Alzheimer's Association, National Capital Area Chapter.

Started in 1997, the Tour de Canal has raised over 1.2 million dollars towards research and support in the fight against Alzheimer’s. Although we have made tremendous progress we still need your help! Alzheimer's disease robs a person of their precious memories, unique talents and their ability to communicate.

    There are 3 ride options:

    • 184-miles: tackles the entire length of the C&O Canal over two days beginning in Cumberland, MD and ending in Washington, DC. It’s the longest off-road charity bike ride in the country. (84 miles on Saturday; 100 miles on Sunday)

    • 100-miles: takes in the most scenic stretches of the C&O Canal over two days. (50 miles on Saturday; 50 miles on Sunday)

    • 20-mile Memory Ride: a more low-key approach, is an afternoon excursion that allows less experienced riders to participate in the fun and join all of the tour riders in the finish line victory party. If you are looking for a ride you and your family can enjoy together, this is it! (20 miles on Sunday)
